As your councilwoman I will:

• Provide the best police officers and the equipment they need to keep YOU safe.

• Keep YOUR taxes as low as possible and staff at a minimum.

• Improve the quality of life for YOU by providing park space, bicycle lanes, promoting good businesses, and creating a pedestrian friendly environment

• Improve communications between the town and YOU, to bring you news of meetings and special events.

• Never forget I work for YOU, by listening to your concerns and being accessible and responsive to YOU

During the past four years it has been my greatest honor to serve you as councilwoman. We have come a long way since we were carrying “town hall” around in a cardboard box. We have become a green city, receiving the Tree City designation and were awarded a silver certificate for green building. Throughout the town we have repaved roads, replaced and repaired sidewalks, done extensive drainage work and planted hundreds of trees.

We have increased our police presence and provided our officers with the best tools to do their job, as a result our crime rate has dropped significantly. We have been prudent by increasing our financial reserves. We are prepared both financially and with a trained staff to deal with an emergency, such as a hurricane. In addition, we have received numerous grants to pay for park improvements, police equipment and swimming lessons at the park, to name just a few, thereby reducing the need to spend your tax dollars. We have cleaned up our streets, our "Neat Team" picks up tons of garbage along the roadway.

With our parks committee, I have worked to make major improvements to our 7 parks. I am very proud of our recent acquisition of 50 acres of park space and over $8 million to develop it. I worked on that issue for over 9 years, even before we incorporated, it is truly a dream come true for me and for you. When completed, Lakes by the Bay Park will be a 90 acre park near the bay, with ball fields, walking trails, lakes, canoeing and more.
